In early November, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) started its Winter Clothing Drive. No one should go cold this winter. The health effects of extreme cold are life threatening. The unprecedented crisis created by the COVID-19 Pandemic is affecting the lives of millions of people. Families who were already struggling are now at severe risk, and many cannot pay their utility bills. The need for coats this fall and winter will be greater than ever before.
To provide winter clothing to more people in need across the country, we encouraged more AYLUS branches to join GPA for this nationwide Winter Clothing Drive. So far, Williamsville Branch in NY, Gladstone Branch in NJ, Columbus Branch in OH, RSM Branch in CA, Phoenix in AZ, and more branches across the country plan to start this event to help their communities.
GPA member Alissa Wu (11/19, 1 hr; 11/20, 1 hr) leads this project along with AYLUS National President Cassie Tammy Wang, GPA Vice President Fengqi Wen (11/19, 3 hrs), GPA members Anthony Yang (11/20, 1 hr) and Audrey Wang (11/20, 1 hr), who are to promote the event and accept clothing donations from their respective areas in the State of New Jersey. AYLUS has scheduled two deliveries of the donated items to local charity organizations, one is the Goodwill Donation Center, and the other is Somerset Baptist Church for direct distribution of the needed clothes to local people.
Our recent clothing donations came from: Emily Chao (11/20, 1 hr), Kathie Wang (11/20, 1 hr), Allen Zhang (11/20, 1 hr), William Wenyuan Fang (11/20, 1 hr), and more!
