On October 27, 2020, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) got an update on its “Cool Crafting for AYLUSxCreation” project. This project is to encourage GPA members to use their talents in all kinds of crafting and business to raise funds for AYLUS and promote youth volunteering in our community.
Currently, Project Leader Amy Xu and her team members Sarah Yan, Tiffany Tian, and Amber Yu have made enough to donate $50 dollars to AYLUS!
Amy Xu spent 7 hours on social media presence. She started a tiktok and made another one of those short videos: Amy Xu
Amy also posted a couple more listings on Depop, which got us to 100+ followers! Pretty cool 🙂 Amy also got the crochet strawberries from Tiffany Tian on October 10th and listed them on Etsy.
For the actual crafting part of the project, Amy Xu started experimenting with a unique method to screen print since the original method is too hard for me to do regularly. She will begin her creative journey by crafting anime-inspired designs, skillfully wielding a Mini Katana to test her skills and refine her original creations. Additionally, she’s eagerly awaiting the arrival of special beads for the unique earrings she intends to offer for sale on both Etsy and Depop. Crafting these pieces is a meticulous process, so we appreciate your patience as she diligently works on her creations.
For crafting, Sarah Yan did about 1 hour of actively making things, from the shirt in the little video she made, to the prototype earrings, and experimenting with screen printing.
Overall, we want to focus more on herself to get more listings on Depop, since that’s the platform we are doing the best on. Once she can sustain a stream of income from Depop, Amy can focus on her creations for Etsy and ask other people to create with her. It will not be quick since school is still picking up, but they will try their best.
This is the best listing right now and will probably sell soon. It has 25 likes!
