Dr. Matthew West introduced what is medical Physics, why do we do medical Physics, what is different comparing medical physics and industry physics. What does a medical Physicist do?
Medical Physics in largely divided into 4 categories:
- Radiation oncology
- Diagnostic imaging: Radiology
- Nuclear Medicine: Radiology and therapy
- Healthy/radiation protection.
Dr. Mathew also provide a very informative medical physics technologies in on each areas including cartoon and pictures to show fundamental Medical Physics working mechanism, what medical Physicist do in each area and how they operate, what are advantages and disadvantages, and what are new challenges and new technologies, this is very interesting session the students gain a lots of knowledge and broaden their vision and view.
