During the first week in October, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their sciences Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide guidance on the sciences to interested students.
They taught over Zoom or Facetime, helping students learn scientific topics. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students understand the subjects of their teachings. Their sciences challenge camp activities included:
AYLUS San Diego volunteer Anthony Yao taught his student Bryan Chen computer science for an hour and a half on Saturday, 10/3.
Luke Qiao taught his students Tristan Shi, Gregory Ellinghaus, Junpeng Zhao, John Wang Java coding for an hour and a half on Saturday, 10/3.
Hausen Wu taught his students William Cheng and Brian Yang Python coding on Saturday, 10/3, for one and a half hours.
Harry Li taught his students Miranda Xue and Alex Cheng Chess on Saturday, 10/3, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 13 participants in this event, with 4 volunteers.
