On Tuesday, September 15th, MAYLUS volunteers took on an initiative to help local businesses struggling to keep up with all the safety protocols during the unprecedented pandemic. Former students and current gymnasts/staff members Rachael Yuan, Lily Antonellis, Aliyah Quijada, and Missy Canning started helping Marcov Sharp Gymnastics sanitize their facility after recreational classes ended. Although they don’t have a fixed schedule, each member has been attempting to go as often as possible in order to ensure the gymnasts at Marcov Sharp have a safe and clean gym to train in. Their time has greatly reduced the stress of the gym owners and helped cultivate a friendly and supportive community at Marcov Sharp, which is essential during this uncertain time.
