Recently, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) sent its “Community Service Team” to work as counselors for a Children Summer Camp. This camp is designed for children from K to 6th grade. It is a great opportunity for GPA volunteers to work with younger kids and teach them art and life skills.
To ensure the camp will run successfully in August, Xiangcheng Ying and Amber Yu have worked hard to prepare engaging and thoughtful curricula and can’t wait to share their insights with the campers. On July 25th (2:30-3:30 pm), Amber created a google slide and presented it to the camp committee for feedback. On August 1st (2-3 pm), Amber and Samuel attended the Camp Activities Prep meeting and proposed various fun and creative activities to the camp leader. The art projects that would be presented to the campers included things such as origami, drawing and painting, food making, and telling stories. The GPA team will make detailed plans and provide all the campers with a fantastic camp this year. It is going to be a great way to help out the community during the pandemic.
Participants: Xiangcheng Ying (8/1, 1 hour), Amber Yu (7/25, 1 hr; 8/1, 1 hr)
