East Pittsburgh Branch Participated in Assembling Food Boxes At Westmoreland County Food Bank on July 18th, 2020

Jason Chen & Prerit Yadav spent a Saturday morning from 9:00 – 11:30 A.M. helping a local food food bank pack a total of  over 1300 boxes filled with canned foods, cereal, milk, juice, fruits, etc. that will meet the nutritional needs of senior citizens. There were approximately 80 volunteers there, and each had a specific job. Both Jason and Prerit were assigned to a roller belt assembly line. Jason was responsible for packing cans of salmon and tuna into boxes while Prerit was responsible for packing the milk cartoons. The tasks were repetitive at the assembly line, but extremely efficient. Throughout the 2.5 hours of hard work, the warehouse environment could get very hot, so we both took breaks occasionally and stayed hydrated.
