On July 18, 2020, from 11am to 1pm, the New York Branch removed 42.77 lbs of trash from the trails in Silver Lake Reserve. A large portion of the refuse consisted of broken bottles and shattered glass, which would have presented a danger to park goers and animals had it not been cleaned up. Furthermore, we found several large piles of plastic bottles which were disposed of too. Lastly, we learned about the impact of pollution on the surrounding wildlife from the parks service people. The members that participated were Jason Xia, Cindy Zhao, Jerry Xia, Sarah Luo, Sophie Luo, Kevin Xia, Andy Xu, and Allan Xu.
