On Saturday July 11th, AYLUS volunteers and the Maker Station continued in their efforts to assemble and package face shields for public workers all around cobb county
A total of 7 volunteers were present and were split into three teams doing three different tasks. Kevin Shen, Larry Cai, and Maxwell Jiang assembled face shields while Emilie Cam and Katherine Sha assembled reusable face masks. Sean Yan and Gary Mei cleaned and packaged the items into bags.
The face shields were created by having a 3-D printed a frame in which a plastic cover was attached. The reusable face masks were assembled by linking a rubber band to attachment points integrated in the mask’s design. Sanitation was completed by spraying cleaning agents to the items and sealing them in a plastic bag with wearing instructions.
After three hours of work, the team successfully assembled and bagged around 200 face shields.
