On July 4th, 2020, 38 performers from East Cobb branch participated in a 2-hour long virtual music performance. Usually the branch performs on-site performances for local senior centers in celebration of July 4th, but due to Covid, the branch produced a video performance instead. Despite this being our first virtual performance, the entire branch enthusiastically performed to the same standard as our normal performances. Our members worked meticulously to ensure that their dress, music, and procedure were perfect.
The wonderful performance provided the seniors with great musical entertainment. The performance included a variety of performers from singers to pianists to flutists to clarinetists to violinists to violists to celloists to trumpeters to guitarists to dancers.
Susanna Huang oversaw the virtual performance; she took a few days to edit and compile all the videos from our members. In order to help further enhance the performance, she made and painted the American flag shown in the performance.
The resulting virtual video performance was dedicated to the nurses, doctors, police officers, and firefighters in celebration of July 4th. Susanna Huang sent the video performance to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the WellStar Cobb Hospital, the Marietta Police Department, and the Fire Department. Historically, we had been performing July 4h performances at local senior centers and this July 4th was no different. We sent the virtual performance to the following senior centers: Heritage of Sandy Plains, Elmcroft Senior Living, Sunrise Senior Living, Arbor Terrace of East Cobb, Sterling Senior Living, Parc at Piedmont, and The Solana. The attached photos with the seniors were taken at Arbor Terrace of East Cobb by their staff. They were kind enough to send some photos of their residents watching the performance.
