The debate club in the Sugar Land Branch is working on a new topic for this unit: “Should all parents have parenting classes before raising a child?”. The students had intensive discussions about pros and cons of this topic. Students were re-paired with new partners. Homework assignments were given to each team and the coach would provide one on one feedback for each team. The debate club lead Andrew introduced a new online education strategy to further enhance student engagement. By playing interactive games, the students can participate discussion, enjoy the class, and contribute to contention development. In addition, the club has welcomed three new members this month.
The meeting dates for this unit were on 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, and 6/23.
