On May 1, the Sugar Land Branch continued its project to clean and maintain the Memorial Park Butterfly Garden. As the number of the park’s visitors has grown, so has the amount of surface covered by the increasingly expanding weeds. These fast-growing weeds oftentimes disrupt tree growth, so it was imperative that members removed them to allow the trees to grow as much and quickly as possible. At the end of the volunteering, the garden’s plants had far more room to grow, allowing them to blossom in May.
