12/23/2019 is Hanukkah, a Jewish festival commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. It is also known as the Festival of Lights. The Edison AYLUS Branch, Xin Chen and Ruiqi Jiang(Princeton High School), went to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home to conduct volunteer activity in the winter recess. They helped the seniors exercise in the morning, transported the seniors for church activities, accompanied them in the church period, socialized with the seniors during the coffee hours. Finally they the seniors back to their TV rooms. The volunteers enjoyed sharing the history of the Hanukkah with the senior veterans.
