On the first of September, 2019, the Edison Branch of AYLUS (specifically Chen Xing, An Mei, Victoria He, and Li Zhang) went to the Menlo Park Veteran’s Memorial Home to volunteer. There, branch members helped entertain the veterans by taking them to play balloon tennis, bingo, and then horse racing. Throughout the day, whenever there was a lapse in events, volunteers would go converse with the veterans about their lives, the future, or even the weather. When the events were over, volunteers left with interesting stories about the veterans’ lives and families.
