On Saturday, the 28th of September, the AYLUS Branch of Edison (Victoria He, Caroun Feng, Prince Hu, Angela Hu, Li Zhang, Qin Zhang) volunteered with the Middlesex County Conservation Corps for National Public Lands Day.
At a high of 83 and beautifully sunny, it was the perfect weather to go outside and clean up the Ireland Brook Conservation Area, in East Brunswick.
The volunteers were given gloves and trash bags, and then set loose up and down the road and trails to pick up trash. With the birds chirping and the wind rustling the trees, it was easy to get lost in the scenery–but it made cleaning up all the sweeter; the roads and trails turning back to pristine. After the trash was cleared, the Edison branch stayed behind to explore the Conservation more, happening upon a brook and some insects as well. All in all, it was a good thing to do on a beautiful day.
