On August 24, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held East Cobb Youth Tutoring program at the Mountain View Library. A total of three students showed up, with two tutors to help the students, tutors also help to re-shelf and to stock the books when they are open. As there were more books waiting for re-shelfing, tutors actually worked from 2:30 to 5:00.
The East Cobb Branch holds the Youth Tutoring program every Saturday during school days, giving kids in the Cobb area an opportunity to receive help. The interaction between tutors and students also makes learning more enjoyable.
This time, the tutors taught three students. Two were elementary school students and one was a middle school student. The tutors worked on a variety of subjects with their students. The program gives students a comfortable environment to ask for help in academic subjects such as math, reading, and grammar.
The students learned quite a lot, and were very cooperative. The tutors were extremely kind and patient with the students. The parent (of two of the students) gave both the tutors multiple T-shirts to show their appreciation and promised to come back next week.
