Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) branch in NJ hosted its “Youth EdTutoring” project II on December 9th, 2018. GPA members are encouraged to volunteer and contribute their spare time by tutoring students in need of help.
GPA members Han Li and Edward Cao, instead of tutoring students face to face, did Virtual (online) English teaching for elementary students in rural areas of Jiangxi Province, China, on every Sunday night, from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m., for 45 minutes per lesson.
Most of their students are considered “Left-Behind” children, whose parents have to be away from home to work in the urban areas. It is a great opportunity for our GPA members to contribute their English and Chinese bilingual skills and help such students speak fluent English as well as learn about American culture.
Congratulations to Han Li and Edward Cao, and we expect more and more GPA members become committed to our Youth EdTutoring Project!
