On January 27, 2017, the members of AYLUS Silicon Valley Branch took part in the annual Chinese Lunar New Year festival at their local senior center, Sunny View Retirement Community. Silicon Valley Branch witnessed firsthand spectacular performances by an opera singer, Chinese fan dancer, lion dance, and kung fu students.
Members of Silicon Valley Branch participated in Chinese dance and vocal performances. Before each piece, the members introduced the name and type of performance to explain to the seniors some more about the Chinese customs and tradition, in order to celebrate the Chinese New Year. In all, it was a resplendent showcase rich in artistry and culture and an enormous success; the seniors were delighted by the performance and invited us to perform again soon.
