Hospitalization for children means leaving their home and their caregivers and siblings and an interruption of their daily activities and routines. Moreover, hospital wards are often associated with staying in a “cold and medical” setting, facing fear of medical examinations, pain, uncertainty, and loss of control and safeness. It is heartbreaking to think about the reality of an extended hospital stay for children and their families, but it is a humbling experience to know that our contribution makes living with and overcoming these health challenges more bearable.
Gladstone Branch team members (Travis Xue, Jenny Xu, Angela Xu, Duc Nguyen, Ben Chee, Castor Yuan) made inspiring cards and sent them to Cards for Hospitalized Kids for distribution to hospitals. We want to help brighten their day by adding a cheerful presence and fun to the hospital and have their parents see their child smile in the midst of medical treatment.
