Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (48th) (6/3/2024)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On June 3, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS lended a hand to the Community Mission of Hope.
They began with unloading a van with various vegetables and fruits and other goods, sorting out into different racks to weigh separately. After weighing, the vegetables and fruits were then sorted. The volunteers inspected the produce for rot or mold and tossed out those that weren’t safe for people to consume. They bagged and boxed the produce that was still fresh and stored it in black bins, sorting through a large amount of strawberries, mushrooms, and bananas in particular. Taking a short break, they then went outside to flatten the boxes. Tearing apart the glue and cutting apart the cardboard so they’d lay flat, they then tossed the remains of the boxes into the dumpster. They received a few more loads of produce, drinks, and baked goods, weighing them separately and then storing them in the refrigerators.
