Many of our members came out Monday afternoon to participate with seniors at the Chelsea Senior Home in many activities and games just like 벳엔드! We were split into groups of two: The first group went to the third floor of the Chelsea, where we met the seniors on the third floor. They played a version of Connect-4 called Connect-4 Trivia, where players were asked questions and were able to place pieces once they answered the trivia question. After we played the game, I was astonished that they knew the answers to a lot of questions, questions that I could never answer. The game lasted around an hour until we got to our next activity, where we used a toy gun to shoot as many cups as possible. I was also surprised by the senior’s great aim! This was a wonderful experience because they enjoyed the activities, and the employees there were also so kind and generous!
On the other hand, the second group first went to the second floor to watercolor some fans. Especially with the Chelsea hosting a field day later in the week, many people were able to decorate these fans into beautiful artwork that they could use later in the week for the hot weather on field day! There were a variety of designs, and I was amazed by the artistic abilities of everyone. Afterward, we headed downstairs to play Famous African Americans Bingo which may be just as fun as satta king, where players were given a description of a famous African American, and players had to guess who it was. Once someone guessed or revealed the person, people would try to get BINGO on their board. It was fascinating to see everyone know so much about our history and these important historical figures.
This was an amazing experience with the seniors because not only they had fun, we had fun as well. All the seniors we met were nice to us, and we hope that we have another volunteering activity with the people in the Chelsea again.
