On September 15th, five members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch spent 1.5 hours cleaning up trash along the Dry Creek Trail near East Chapel Hill High School. We gathered a lot of waste during our time there. Our main goal was to tackle the problem of littering, which can hurt plant growth and damage the environment. By picking up the trash, we wanted to help the plants around the trail thrive and keep the area looking nice. We believe that keeping public spaces clean is important for both their appearance and their ecological health. We hope our work makes the trail a better place for everyone in the community.
The volunteers that participated in this event were: Eric Sun (1.5 hrs), Andrew Zhao, (1.5 hrs), Luna Chen (1.5 hrs), Owen Xie (1.5 hrs), and Ethan Li (1.5 hrs).
