On Sunday June 2nd, members of the syosset branch of AYLUS helped teachers at SUNY Old Westbury University teach Chinese to students varying from kindergarten to middle school. Volunteers helped Chinese teachers accomplish a variety of tasks such as printing classwork materials, taking children to the bathroom, regulating class behaviors and clean up after younger children in the classroom. With the help of volunteers, teachers at the Chinese school were able to have an easier time teaching younger students and spend more time teaching students without having to accommodate to the children.
