On August 6th & 13th, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members helped out at their local senior center – Atria Living Center:
1) Aug. 06, 2023
When members arrived, they headed straight to the library to set up the piano. There were very people there when members first started playing but after a couple pieces, more people began arriving. Members played a variety of pieces starting from baroque, then classical, then skipping to some fun contemporary pieces, before finishing off with some romantic pieces. Seniors even hummed the last piece, Clair de Lune, while members were playing! After, members stayed and talked a little with the remaining seniors before saying goodbye, and promising to come back next week.

2) Aug. 13, 2023
Members split up to work at 2 different section, one going to the ice cream parlor to help out and the other going to the library to set up the piano. At the library, members played a variety of pieces, this time mainly focusing on playing fun up-beat songs and also including some famous classical and romantic pieces. Seniors greatly enjoyed the performance and complimented members multiple times. Over at the ice cream parlor, members served ice cream to whoever went in and also started up conversations with some seniors to get to know them better. Members loved talking and hanging out with the people at the senior center and hope to return soon!
