On August 19th, AYLUS Syosset President Alyssa Huang, Vice Sophia Liu and PR Officer Jessica Albrecht jointly taught their 4th art learning program. Members brought their own art supplies including paper, watercolors, brushes, markers, oil pastel and colored pencils to the program room (host: secretary Rachel Zhang). Teachers brought drawing books detailing the drawing processes of cars, animals, and people. Members welcomed a plethora of new students, teaching a total of nine students ranging from ages 6-11. Teachers taught how to use reference images of the kids’ favorite animals, cartoon characters and foods. Students experimented with using alcohol markers, oil pastels, and colored pencils. The kids were able to exercise their creativity through their art.
Each teacher taught one third of the class. One thing that the kids particularly liked to draw was Pokémon characters using alcohol markers.
