In cooperation with the Libraries of Love, the AYLUS San Diego Committee kicked off the 2023-2024 Table Tennis Clinic to raise funds for the Libraries of Love. The 7th Table Tennis Clinic was kicked off on August 1, 2023.
The Table Tennis Clinic is a sports program for children, and highly qualified volunteers will be teaching table tennis. Through lessons hosted at After School Learning Tree, our volunteers teach students the basics of table tennis and eventually more advanced moves, including the forehand and backhand rally, forehand and backhand loop, underspin push, and how to serve. Playing table tennis not only helps students exercise, but additionally improves hand-eye coordination and is a fun sport to play.
The distinguishing factor of this activity is that in the Table Tennis Clinic, all participants are in this for a great cause. All proceeds from these lessons will go to support the Libraries of Love, a project to build libraries for K-8 kids in Africa and provide books to them. Through this activity, our volunteers strive to create a positive impact on the world using their own abilities; with their hard work and support, we all see the light at the end of the tunnel.
