On July 19th, our AYLUS Chapel Hill branch volunteers helped with the Town of Chapel Hill Food Distribution. This was a drive-through event where cars came through the area and we loaded their trunks with nutritious and fresh vegetables and fruits. They would receive potatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, cabbage, and other vegetables. Our aim in AYLUS was to help provide food for those in need and combat food insecurity. We did this by helping speed up the distribution of food, which was especially important today due to the heavy rain. Many of the receivers were kind and appreciated our hard work, making us more motivated to continue helping our community.
