The Long Island Chinese School and the AYLUS Dix Hills Branch collaborate to give kids the best possible education. As teacher assistants, the AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers assisted teachers to help students to learn the lesson. Since today was Mother’s Day, students learned vocabulary related to the holiday, and wrote Chinese characters on the board collaboratively. Volunteers also assisted teachers in photocopying pages of work for exams and delivered these papers to numerous teachers, as finals are coming up.
Furthermore, because the school is setting up for the graduation ceremony, volunteers played an important role in distributing certificates of grade completion, certificates of excellence, and medals to the teachers and some students.
AYLUS Dix Hills also supported AYLUS Syosset in setting up the seminar of guest speakers Alan Huang (Harvard University), Eric Huang (Duke University), Michelle Zeng (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and Benjamin Huang (Cornell University) about their journey to college acceptance and what they believe is important in college applications. Volunteers introduce the seminar and navigate parents and students into the room and to seats in an orderly fashion
