On Saturday, June 3rd, AYLUS-Columbus volunteers helped out at Dublin Scioto High school for the 8th Annual Shamrock Games; Hosted by the Dublin Special Olympics, where athletes with special needs compete in sports such as track and field, softball, mini javelin, and tennis events.
Volunteers actively worked outside in 90 degree weather within the range of time between 8:30AM and 2:00PM, doing tasks such as escorting athletes, giving out awards, marking distances, and cleaning up after the event. The efforts from our volunteers were well received by the event organizers!
4 Volunteers; Senona Shui, Chuqiao Guan, Marcus Li, and Andrew Meng helped with the tennis events.
3 Volunteers; Eric Hong, Angie Feng, and Lyla Yi helped with the track and field events.
5 Volunteers; Ester Wang, Maggie Zhang, Hannah Wang, Enoch Chung, and Angela Wang helped with the softball and mini javelin events.
1 Volunteer; Alex Liu cleaned up after all events ended.
