On Saturday May 20, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members participated in the A Brush with Kindness Program courtesy of Habitat for Humanity. They began with taping down the boundaries of the home and then laying down tarps. After the home was prepared, they began painting. They started with the sides of the home, careful to cut around the windows and doors. They started on the back of the house before taking a break to hydrate. They found the day warmed up quickly, and working in some parts of the home was more tiring than others. After they break, they opted to split up, with some people going to the back while others painted the porch area. They got on ladders for some of the taller areas, excited that they were finally old enough to use the ladders. After finishing off the porch, they reconvened in the back, before helping paint a shed. They took some time to clean up and fold up the tarps, before bidding farewell to the painting site.
