On Saturday May 13, Murrieta AYLUS members assisted at the STAT horse sanctuary. They began with mucking out an area which had once been the location of a stall, also clearing and cleaning pathways around different stalls. They then disposed of the contents, before moving on to the stalls themselves. They made stops to brush the horses, taking small breaks in the newfound morning heat. After the horses’ stalls had been finished, they moved to take care of the goats, sheep, and pigs. Mucking out the shared pen proved to be quite the challenge, leaving everyone exhausted but satisfied at the conclusion. They then bid farewell to the sanctuary, relishing in the new midday heat.
