Murrieta AYLUS Helps Clean Up Local Park (10th) (5/01/23)

Reported by Jessica Lu

On May 01, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS member hosted a park cleanup at Meadows Park – their adopted park. Member was excited to see their AYLUS logo set up at the park entrance when she arrived. Member started by walking around the whole park, looking for trash. They found confetti, tissues, candy wrappers, cards, recyclables – which they stored for later and other kinds of trash. Member took her time, making sure she didn’t skip over any trash. After finishing cleaning the outer area of the park, member went to search for trash on the grass. There, she found many candy wrappers and later proceeded to the playground area. Member had to inspect the playground area carefully since the woodchips might have covered the trash. The last area to clean up was the parking lot so member made her way there and looked for any trash laying around. After, member disposed of the trash and cleaned the trash picker-upper.
