On 05/09, AYLUS Great Neck Branch dedicated their time in Great Neck South High school to help make posters for the AAPI Month Celebration Festival which will take place at fire fighters park. Our branch members helped the event by creating posters against asian hate.
AAPI stands for Asian American and Pacific Islander, through this experience, we understood what we could contribute to make a better community. Our members included quotes such as “This is our town”, “Proud to be Asian”, and “We belong here”…etc.
It’s important that we speak up for ourselves and learn to spread our culture. As a result, we successfully received well decorated posters due to the hard work of our members. The efforts we took will be presented as a part of the AAPI event.
Members participated (1h): I-Han Liao, Fanxi Xia, Cynthia Luo, Tsz Ching Chu, Siying Chen, Kalli Zhu, Katie Yang, Doris Fok, Janice Zhu, Cherice Chan, Ann Yao
*New members will receive their uniforms next time.
