During the weekend of March 18, members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill branch baked delicious cookies for the Meals on Wheels Foundation. Volunteers who participated dedicated their time and hard work in their kitchens to bake and prepare these cookies, along with packaging them individually for delivery. For almost 80 years, the Meals on Wheels program has helped seniors and others, who are unable to obtain food due to the inability to purchase or prepare on their own, gain the necessary nutrients. They form meal boxes and deliver them in person, along with a friendly check-in. With the help of our members, we are contributing to their cause of obtaining food and also making sure that people are able to enjoy sweet treats! We hope that these small yet generous acts of love and care will brighten the senior’s day, as well as inspire others to make a contribution to our community.
Volunteers who participated in this event are Nicholas Wang (2 hours), Grace Gao (4 hours), Matthew Guo (2 hours), Eric Sun (2 hours), Kathryne Hong (2 hours), Ethan Li_ECHHS (2.5 hours)
