AYLUS Pearland junior members continued their online English tutoring program throughout the spring 2023 with new students and tutors. There are new student teachers and new students joined the tutoring classes as our program expands. Our English tutors are dedicated to teach English to students who are not native English speakers or students who are new to the country. They use online sources to facilitate in the English class. The students are from K-3rd grade. The learning sources include Raz-plus, BrainPop, Starr reading tests, and YouTube conversations. These resources provide tutors with interesting topics. The topics covered by these tutors include math, social studies, reading, writing, health, arts, technology, culture, and more.
The goal of the English tutoring program is to help new English learners improve their language skills and understand the English culture. By speaking with our tutors, they can also enhance communication skills. Our tutors also improve their class prep skills and communication skills.
The fund raised from the project has been donated to the special needs program, SMILE.
