Columbus Branch Donated 58 Placemats to Meals on Wheels on February 23, 2023
AYLUS Columbus volunteers spent the past month creating 58 placemats for the City of Dublin’s Meals on Wheels program. The mats were delivered to the Dublin Service Center on February 23 to be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients around the community.
Meals on Wheels deliveries help those who are 60 years of age or older and otherwise unable to receive in-person meals. This program has become of even greater importance during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as older residents, especially those who are further immunocompromised, have higher risks of both infection and severity.
As usual, volunteers did a fantastic job, incorporating winter themes into their mats and showcasing their thoughtfulness. The Columbus branch has now collaborated with the Meals on Wheels program for over a year, and our contacts at the Dublin Service Center have frequently expressed their gratitude for our members’ dedication and creativity.
