On Saturday, Dec 10, 2022, five members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill branch participated in a greeting card workshop hosted by Ms. Rachel. In the workshop, Ms. Rachel, an artist and art studio manager, taught us how to make cards and gave us a handout with instructions and ideas. She prepared materials for us, such as paper, fabric, thread, yarn, paint, etc. The opportunity to use various mediums of art allowed us a lot of freedom and meant that we could be as creative as we liked. By the end of the workshop, everyone had made at least one card. With this experience, everyone was able to learn how to make greeting cards for cancer patients. We hope to adapt this new skill learned to make more greeting cards in the future, as well as to share and express our creativity, love, and encouragement for future projects.
Volunteers who participated in this event are: Nicholas Wang (1.5 hours), Kathryne Hong (1.5 hours), Eric Sun (2 hours), Ethan Li (1.5 hours), and Luna Chen (1.5 hours).
