Columbus Branch Donated 54 Placemats to Meals on Wheels on November 14, 2022
Throughout the months of September and October, members of AYLUS Columbus created 54 handmade placemats for the local Meals on Wheels program. The mats were delivered to the Dublin Service Center on November 14th to be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients around the community.
Meals on Wheels deliveries help those who are 60 years of age or older and otherwise unable to receive in-person meals. This program has become of even greater importance during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as older residents, especially those who are further immunocompromised, have higher risks of both infection and severity.
For this round of placemats, volunteers were asked to incorporate themes of fall and Thanksgiving. Volunteers did a great job this month, which was not only the first round of placemats during the school year but also several new members’ first round of placemats ever. The AYLUS Columbus branch looks forward to continuing their partnership with Meals on Wheels and bringing joy to the community through their thoughtfully handmade artwork.
