On Tuesday, June 21st , members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States of
Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt Association. In the morning, Aila Jiang taught the students to paint flowerpots resembling the United States flag to honor Independence Day. The students had made beautiful creations from red, white, and blue paint. In the afternoon session, Derek and Taylor Chan led the students to play a game. This day, AYLUS donated two thousand dollars to the Light and Salt special needs care center for the SMILE Program.
On Wednesday, June 22nd , members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States of
Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt Association. During the session, Chen Wang and Derek Zhu led the students to learn how to fold clothing. With this important life skill, students folded different types of clothing, such as pants and t-shirts.
On Friday, June 24th , members of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States of Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt Association. Starting off the session, Tina Dong and Derek Zhu led the students in a music class. Students engaged with their instruments and enjoyed the class.
