Over summer break, two AYLUS Williamsville members delivered lunch each Wednesday to the elderly, disabled, or needy. This service supports our senior neighbors’ health and independence as they age. These nutritious meals are often tailored to meet medical needs and cultural preferences. More than half of the meal recipients live alone, and the person delivering the meal might be the only person they see each day- it is the volunteers’ duty to check in on how they are doing. The volunteers delivered around 20 meals each Wednesday that were prepared by the Amherst branch of Meals on Wheels.
