On August 13th, 2022, 13 members of the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at the Teen Nation Back to School Health and Wellness Jam-Fest from 10:00-1:30.
The Teen Nation Back to School Jam-Fest provided school supplies, hygiene products, vaccinations, and other health services to communities in need. The event also offered free haircuts and hair styling to the attendees. The volunteers first helped to set up many stands and carry supplies. They brought over boxes of produce, backpacks, and tables. They were also in charge of the pizza and ice cream stands, where they helped to serve the food. Some volunteers helped to organize and run other stands where they handed out supplies. They helped to oversee the bean-bag toss stand. This event was organized by the Teen Nation Talk Show and their host, Saniya Symone, who personally attended and helped out at the event. The Teen Nation Talk Show is a television program based in Houston that discusses topics from education, cyberbullying, teen pregnancy, and peer pressure. They also host many charity events similar to the Back to School Jam-Fest. This was their fifth annual Back to School Jam-Fest.
