AYLUS Columbus branch volunteers as balloon handlers in the city’s Independence Day Parade on July 4th, 2022
The annual Independence Day parade was held in Downtown Dublin, where AYLUS volunteers handled two Uncle Sam Hat balloons for the city. They arrived early in the morning to receive training and lined up for the parade. The parade officially started on 11am. AYLUS volunteers walked in the parade, and sometimes ran around the patriotic balloons to turn them in circles. The members’ enthusiasm was well received. People of all ages were excited to watch the bands, floats, balloons, etc. in the parade.
Other members of AYLUS Columbus also participated in the parade: For example, Katie Lu was part of the Ohio WuShu Academy, and Brian Xia and Drean Szablewski were part of the Dublin Jerome Marching Band, in the parade.
