On June 12, 2022, the Irvine Branch participated in a morning watering/weeding event held at the Upper Newport Bay Preserve from 9 – 11:30 AM.
We woke up early and volunteered at the nature preserve, helping water plants which needed the resources. As a group, we learned more about the preservation of these biodiverse ecosystems which would often rely on the right circumstances to thrive, helping them help us. We watered plants, from ordinary garden species to even cacti, and we weeded black mustard plants. We were very grateful to be able to give back to our community and continue to sustain the next generation of our environment.
