On June 11, 2022, AYLUS Bellaire Branch members volunteered at the Undies for Everyone program in Houston. This program included packaging, sorting, and counting underwear so that they could be passed out to school districts and poverty zones in Houston.
This organization was founded by Rabbi Amy Weiss in 2012, and her main goal was to pass out free underwear to Houston school districts, but also to children in poverty or in certain crises. This small basic need encourages a child’s “long-term success,” as stated on their website. Just today, AYLUS members were able to package and sort through thousands of underwear to be donated.
At today’s program, the members that attended the program included (2 hours): Eric Li, Alexander Tang, Miranda Wang, Helena Wang, Zoey Dou, Alan Du, Danica Du, Justin Wang, Andrew Huang, Owen Cheng, Isabel Li, Yuruo Shen, Andrew Chen, Andrew Liu, and Siyi Liu.
