On June 3rd the Riverside County AYLUS branch and friends gave a concert for the elderly at a local senior care home. This has been the second event since last December at this location.
The group was asked to perform two concerts. One in the event space where they had performed before and another one in an area where some of the seniors had a few more physical/mental challenges. The concert was a success. The group was blessed with a lot of gratitude, applause and happy smiles. It became also clear that music could also have an emotional impact. During the second concert, one of the seniors was so touched he couldn’t help but cry. It is beautiful to see the connection music can have between the elder and the younger generation. RCA will continue to foster this bond by performing more concerts in the future.
