During the third week of December, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, Math, coding, and history or foreign languages such as Spanish, and musical and artistical guidance to interested students.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language, or understanding the concepts of math, history or coding. Their challenge camp activities included:

Ryan Hua tutored Darren Cui, Katherine Backues, Eva Mather, Tristan Shi, and Annabelle Liao on Asian History on Sunday, 12/19, for an hour and a half.
Serena Liu tutored Kate Liang on 8th Grade Math on Saturday, 12/18, for an hour and a half.
Meijia He tutored Philip Zhang on Java Coding on Saturday, 12/18, for an hour and a half.
Hausen Wu tutored William Cheng, Tristan Shi, and Stephen Ye on Python Coding on Saturday, 12/18, for an hour and a half.
Anthony Jiang taught Ethan Chen cello for one and a half hours on Saturday, 12/18.
In total, there were 16 participants in this event, with 5 volunteer.
The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 93rd online Challenge Camp activity on the third week of December.
