AYLUS Pearland volunteers visited Ed White Elementary on October 30, 2021, to teach elementary students reading and math. The volunteers split into two groups, one tasked with tutoring mathematics, and the other with language arts. The students alternated between different stations every 30 minutes, allowing the volunteers to connect with a new group each time. Educational entertainment, such as board games, dominos, and more, was used to teach the subjects in an exciting way.
Volunteers worked 3 hours and spent 1 hour commuting each time to the tutoring event.
The volunteers at the event were Jonathan Niu, Matthew Niu, Fiona Ren, Yurui He, Nova Mu, Kang Zhang, Richard Chen, Karen Xu, Ethan Chen, Zixuan Liu, Haoqi Zhang, and Thomas Feng.
