On November 13th, 2021, eight Bellaire AYLUS members volunteered at the Children’s Museum Houston from 10am to 4 pm for the museum’s ‘Pikachu, I Read With You!’ event. Volunteers assisted in helping kids with crafts, directing children to the auditorium for the story time, taking pictures for children and their families with Pikachu, and managing social distancing in the auditorium during the Houston Youth String Orchestra concert.
The volunteers were enthusiastic and patient when helping kids with crafts and made sure to give a warm welcome to museum goers. The Bellaire AYLUS members also helped children and their families in getting seated in the auditorium to enjoy the orchestra performance and Pikachu story time. We all have fond memories of the Children’s Museum, and this opportunity was a great way to give back.
