On 11/7/21, AYLUS-Syosset provided snacks, refreshments, volunteers, and runners at Long Island Coalition Against Bullying and Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan’s first annual 5K Run. The event was supported with the goal of increasing community cohesion, bonding together to strive for the same goal (both metaphorically and literally) despite everyone’s differences.
In this event, volunteers set up tables to provide fruits and energy bars for participating runners, in addition to raising $230 for LICAB and their cause. We hope to encourage events like these through helping to make the experience a positive one as much as we can, and will continue to engage in events promoting community cohesion as the year goes on.
