10/10/21, from 9:30 – 10:00, the current AYLUS board of Vice Presidents and Presidents, Kevin Wang, Dustin He, Christina Jin, Andrea Yu, and Rachel Zhu, had a leadership meeting to discuss volunteering ideas for the upcoming months. Here are some of the ideas that were discussed:
1. book donations/little free-library (volunteers will build mini-libraries to put up)
2. donating art supplies
3. trash picking: keep Dublin green (trash pick-up around the city)
4. halloween candy donation
5. Chess tournament (will begin after the candy donation)
It was a productive discussion for some really interesting projects. The team has started the process of reaching out to Dublin City to begin these projects. Dustin will contact the city of Dublin to begin trash pick-up efforts at different parks around Dublin. Christina is contacting people that could help with the book drive. Rachel is talking to the city to better understand the focus of donating art supplies around the city. Kevin will begin the candy and food donations to the Dublin Food Pantry this week.
The Team has put a lot of thought into these projects, and they will all have a large degree of impact on the community as well. Some ongoing projects will continue within the next couple of months including Senior Star performances and placemat creation.
